5-Metal Flowers

I was in Paris during summer 2009. I had to work there, especially in the very large and very beautiful garden of the National Museum of Natural History. I drew a lot of sketches of flowers and plants, and several well finished drawings for searchers in botanic matter, and for myself of course.
As soon as I came back to my workshop in Leucate, South of france, I decided to move those drawings into paintings: a special style of paintings, derived from my knowledge of ancient icones, in particular old traditional gilding of Leban.
Thus, I painted a lot of small panels, (10×10 inches), presenting on each one the flowers or plants I drew in Paris… Those series are my « Metal Flowers »…And, to be complete, I add a short selection of my drawings:
