I work on 2 paintings at the same time. I am about to finish the first part of my new series « The cycle of Abraham », which represents Abraham at a particular moment of his life. The second painting, which I began yesterday, at night, is the continuation of my famous series « Missae Breves », (large sizes). Concerning « Abraham »: I am arrived to the point where I must wait for more drying. I prepare my own fluids for painting with classical oil colors. My own fluids permit my colours to have a fast drying, without alteration of the painted surface: I use some formulas of the French tradition of the 18th century….
This photo is not the last one. I have worked a little bit more after I made it. Newest photos will come tomorrow, or on Saturday… While I am painting this large canvas, I think about a text which would provide a correct explanation of the series… (In French and in English). I will publish it soon.
